TSMC reports huge second-generation 3nm process yields

TSMC reports that they are seeing "tremendous" yields on their second-generation 3nm-class process notes. According to the company, N3E's D0 defect density is comparable to N5, matching the defect rates of older nodes at the same point in their respective lifecycles. This allows TSMC's leading-edge customers, such as Apple, to reap the benefits of an improved process node relatively quickly.
