GM to recall thousands of Chevrolet Bolt electric cars for $1 billion

Because the LG batteries used in the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle have two rare manufacturing defects that increase the risk of battery fire, General Motors announced that it will spend $1 billion to recall thousands of Bolt electric vehicles with battery fire risks. The recall forced General Motors to suspend the production and sales of the Bolt for more than six months.
