With the overall rise of China's new energy vehicle market, the sales of joint venture auto brands in the Chinese market are declining rapidly. According to the China Passenger Car Association, the retail sales of mainstream joint venture brands in April were 450,000 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 26%. In particular, the shares of Japanese and German brands fell by 3.6% and 2.2% respectively. At the same time, the domestic retail share of independent brands reached 57.4%, a year-on-year increase of 9%. This change shows that the position of joint venture cars in the Chinese market is gradually weakening.
