US government cuts Intel subsidies to below $8 billion

According to the New York Times, the US government's subsidies to Intel under the Chips and Science Act will be reduced to less than $8 billion because Intel has already won a $3.5 billion chip manufacturing contract from the US military. Despite the reduction in direct subsidies, Intel will still receive $11 billion in federal low-interest loans and a 25% tax break.
