Japan is facing the challenges of population decline and labor shortage, and is in urgent need of efficient and convenient public transportation. After experiencing the self-driving bus, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his willingness to promote advanced autonomous driving. The Japanese government will accelerate the operation of autonomous driving technology and the improvement of relevant laws and regulations to promote this technology nationwide. The Japanese people have a high acceptance of autonomous driving technology, and only 20% of people refuse to use fully autonomous vehicles. Japan is more inclined to use self-driving buses to cope with problems such as traffic congestion, aging, and labor shortages in central urban areas. PIX Moving has cooperated with TIS Co., Ltd. to establish its first overseas robot factory in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, to promote the commercial operation of self-driving minibuses.
