European auto suppliers cut 53,300 jobs, with Germany hit hardest

European parts makers have announced 53,300 job cuts this year, mostly in Germany, according to the European Association of Automotive Suppliers. The suppliers employ about 1.7 million people across the European Union, including large conglomerates such as Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH as well as many smaller hidden champions.
