VinFast recalls some VF 8 electric vehicles due to airbag defect

Vietnamese electric car manufacturer VinFast has recalled some VF 8 electric cars in the United States because of defects in the airbags of these vehicles that may cause injury to the driver. The recall involves 4,888 VF 8 vehicles from 2023 to 2025. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) pointed out that in the event of a side impact, the center airbag installed on the driver's seat may not deploy properly, which may hit the driver's arm and cause injury to it.
