Magna establishes first electric vehicle battery housing project in China

On May 21, 2024, Magna established a new plant in Changchun to produce battery housings for electric vehicles. This is the company's first such project in China and is designed to meet the needs of a German high-end car brand. The new plant covers an area of ​​about 39,500 square meters. The first phase of the plant has been completed and put into operation, with an annual production capacity of about 200,000 sets of battery housings. Magna's move is to cope with the rapid development of China's new energy vehicle market.
