Japan Display Inc. (JDI) expects to post a net loss for the 11th consecutive year and plans to shift its business focus from displays to growth areas such as semiconductor packaging substrates and artificial intelligence data centers. Most of JDI's revenue comes from display panels, but the company decided to transform due to long-term losses in the industry. JDI plans to use its display technology to focus on creating fine circuits on glass substrates. Although JDI has tried to build an OLED factory in China, this plan did not come true for various reasons.
