Application and Challenges of SOA in In-Vehicle Systems

97
SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) is gaining attention in vehicle systems, aiming to provide more flexible and scalable software solutions. However, implementing SOA is not easy and faces many challenges, including compatibility issues with traditional signal-based ECUs. To address this issue, the AUTOSAR organization proposed a reference solution for Signal to Service (S2S), which realizes the mutual conversion between signals and services. Although SOA brings many advantages, it is not a panacea and cannot solve all problems. In the pursuit of software-defined cars, we must recognize that problems such as software complexity, consistency, and variability still exist.
