Against the backdrop of a deteriorating global security situation, Finnish communications giant Nokia has successfully acquired the US communications company Fenix Group. Although Nokia withdrew from the mobile phone market many years ago, it is still one of the world's major communications equipment developers and suppliers, with a market value of US$22 billion and 870,000 employees. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Nokia's position in the defense communications equipment market.
