Performance of UMC, GlobalFoundries and Huahong Group in the global foundry market

In the global foundry market in the first quarter of 2024, UMC, GlobalFoundries and Hua Hong Group accounted for 6%, 5% and 2% respectively. These three foundry companies mainly focus on mature processes, but due to sluggish demand for mature processes, their market share remained flat or declined year-on-year. For example, UMC's revenue decreased by 0.6% month-on-month and increased by 0.8% year-on-year; GlobalFoundries' revenue decreased by 16% month-on-month and year-on-year; Hua Hong Semiconductor's sales revenue decreased by 27.08% year-on-year and increased slightly by 1% month-on-month.
