Intel could lose some federal chip funding

Intel could lose a portion of its $8.5 billion federal chip grant from the CHIPS Act to less than $8 billion, according to four people familiar with the matter. The change takes into account a $3 billion contract Intel has received to produce chips for the U.S. military. Intel had previously delayed part of its investment plan for a chip factory in Ohio and planned to complete the project by the end of this decade instead of 2025.
