SMIC's performance exceeded expectations and became the world's third largest wafer foundry

In the first quarter, SMIC surpassed GlobalFoundries and UMC to become the world's third largest wafer foundry, with performance exceeding market expectations, thanks to the growth of CMOS image sensors (CIS), power management ICs (PMIC), IoT chips and display driver ICs (DDIC) and market recovery.
