According to the latest report from Reuters, European automaker Stellantis Group announced on Wednesday that its two factories in southern Italy will temporarily cease operations. Specifically, the Termoli engine plant will suspend production from December 16th to 22nd, while the Cassino car plant is scheduled to stop production on November 29th. During this period, workers will be temporarily laid off. Stellantis Group's brands in Italy include Fiat and Alfa Romeo. Although the company said it would strive to maintain the continuity of its business in Italy, it also admitted that it is facing many challenges, some difficult decisions need to be made, and there are no simple solutions. It is worth mentioning that the Stellantis Group has suspended production in Italy several times this year, but in previous negotiations with the government and trade unions, the company promised not to close its factories in Italy or carry out large-scale layoffs.
