Volkswagen considers spinning off local assembly unit, moving jobs overseas

Volkswagen plans to spin off its local assembly unit and move work abroad or outsource it to external service providers. Volkswagen's board member for human resources, Kilian, said the company could not afford future investments without comprehensive measures to restore its competitiveness.
