Haier plans to acquire Autohome and lay off 30% of its employees after January next year

On November 20, it was reported that Haier, a well-known home appliance brand, will acquire Autohome, one of the three largest vertical portal websites in China. According to the report, Haier will use a certain amount of funds to acquire part of Autohome's equity in order to achieve a controlling stake in it, and is expected to lay off 30% of the latter's employees in January next year.
