Selection and Application of CAN Bus Network Topology

190
In the CAN bus application in the automotive industry, it is crucial to choose the right network topology. This article introduces four mainstream bus topologies: linear topology, star topology, ring topology and tree topology. Linear topology is widely used due to its advantages such as simple wiring and fixed impedance matching; star topology is convenient for node expansion, but central equipment failure may cause network paralysis; tree topology is convenient for wiring construction, but the network topology is complex and requires the addition of hubs or repeaters; ring topology has serious signal reflection after disconnection and is not suitable for high baud rate and long-distance transmission.
