Ambarella acquires VisLab to strengthen machine vision AI algorithm recognition and motion planning capabilities

In order to strengthen its capabilities in machine vision AI algorithm recognition and motion planning, Ambarella spent $30 million to acquire Italian autonomous driving developer VisLab in 2015. This acquisition enabled Ambarella to take solid steps in the automotive field. VisLab has extensive experience in the development of binocular stereo vision perception systems, which adds important technical elements to Ambarella's automotive vision product line.
