Kai Grünitz, director of technical development at Volkswagen, told Automotive Weekly that Volkswagen Passenger Cars plans to reduce costs and speed up new car development through digital means, with the goal of shortening the new car development time to within 30 months. Grünitz said that this change is still in its early stages and aims to increase the speed of the development process and form a decentralized decision-making mechanism at the professional level. The Volkswagen Group has completed this adjustment and has extended this model to brands such as Skoda, Seat/Cupra and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
