Analysis of Automobile Bus Technology

This article introduces four mainstream automotive bus technologies in detail, including controller area network (CAN), local interconnect network (LIN), FlexRay and multimedia transport system (MOST). Each bus technology has its own unique characteristics and application scenarios. For example, CAN bus is widely used in automotive electronic systems with its efficient support for distributed control and real-time control; LIN bus is mainly used in electric doors and windows, seat adjustment and other controls with its low cost; FlexRay bus is mainly used in safety-related wire control systems and power systems due to its high bandwidth and good fault tolerance; and MOST bus is designed for in-vehicle multimedia applications and can achieve real-time transmission of sound and video.
