According to Korean media reports, Samsung's semiconductor division has shut down more than 30% of its 4nm, 5nm and 7nm chip production lines at Pyeongtaek P2 and P3 in response to weak orders. Samsung is also reportedly keeping a close eye on customer orders and plans to gradually stop operations, possibly shutting down about 50% of its facilities by the end of the year. Analysts expect Samsung's foundry business to lose about 1 trillion won in the third quarter, leading the company to implement cost cuts by shutting down some production lines.
