Toyota Motors faces tough battle in South and Central Asian markets

Toyota Motor Corporation sold only 225,700 vehicles in the Central and South Asian markets in April, down 15.1% year-on-year. Among them, sales in the Chinese market (including Hong Kong) were 118,200 vehicles, a sharp decline of 27.3% year-on-year. Toyota Motor said that the decline in sales in the Chinese market was mainly due to fierce price competition.
