Xpeng Motors began developing a map-free solution based on SD in 2023, and plans to launch the map-free solution before the end of the year, opening up the ability to automatically change lanes, overtake, and turn left and right in cities without high-precision map coverage. Xpeng's map-free NGP and map-based NGP are based on the same technology stack, with the only difference being that the original high-precision map input has been replaced with navigation map input and real-time perception of navigation information.
