BMW and Great Wall's joint venture Beam Automotive begins mass production of MINI electric version

Lightbeam Automotive, a joint venture between BMW and Great Wall Motors, has begun mass production of the MINI brand's first pure electric model, the MINI COOPER SE. The new car will be produced at Lightbeam Automotive's Jiangsu plant, with an estimated annual production capacity of 160,000 units. The MINI COOPER SE has a range of up to 270 kilometers and an acceleration time of 7.3 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers. BMW said the MINI brand will continue to be committed to achieving full electrification.
