Taiyo Yuden said that due to the sluggish demand for smartphones and automobiles in China, the company's revenue and operating profit in the last fiscal quarter did not meet expectations. Specifically, Taiyo Yuden's capacitor department revenue increased by 12.2% year-on-year to 58.278 billion yen, the inductor department revenue increased by 1.4% year-on-year to 15.963 billion yen, the composite component department revenue decreased by 26.8% year-on-year to 6.097 billion yen, and the other department revenue decreased by 6.0% year-on-year to 6.379 billion yen.
