Four Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturers start joint highway demonstration test of autonomous trucks

Four Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturers, including Isuzu Motors and Hino Motors, have started a joint highway demonstration test of autonomous trucks. Against the backdrop of the growing shortage of truck drivers, competition in the development of autonomous driving technology is becoming increasingly fierce. Each manufacturer is testing "Level 4" vehicles (L4) that can be driven without human assistance under certain conditions to confirm whether they can start, stop, and merge into the main line smoothly.
