The new generation of magnesium alloy lightweight trailer jointly developed by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Automobile Group passed the acceptance

On November 1, the second batch of magnesium alloy lightweight trailers jointly developed by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Automobile Group Proton Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. successfully passed the joint acceptance. This model is a key product of Proton Automobile's implementation of the new material lightweight technology route. Since the first round of prototypes were delivered in April 2023, they have successively passed the national mandatory quality and safety inspection, 18,000km enhanced road reliability test and coal transportation actual trial operation, and have reached the target market operation conditions. Based on the technical plan of the first round of prototypes, the second batch of trial-produced vehicles will optimize and upgrade key technical links such as magnesium alloy material forming and welding through standardized management and control, so as to further improve product quality and weight reduction efficiency. According to the project plan, this batch of vehicles will be delivered to users in the target market for actual trial operation.
