BYD Semiconductor and CRRC Times Semiconductor lead the Chinese passenger car power module market

In the first half of 2024, the installed capacity of power modules for passenger cars in China reached 10.82 million sets, a year-on-year increase of 63.9%. Among them, the installed capacity of silicon carbide power modules was 1.31 million sets, a year-on-year increase of 104%. BYD Semiconductor and CRRC Times Semiconductor continued to lead and maintained rapid growth. From January to September this year, BYD Semiconductor grew by 51% year-on-year, and CRRC Times Semiconductor grew by 69%. The two companies are still accelerating their strengthening in terms of production capacity and new products, and are expected to continue to maintain their leading position in the short term.
