Hyundai Motor recently announced that it will begin producing all-solid-state batteries and plans to apply them to the electric vehicle market. This technology will bring longer battery life, faster charging speed and higher energy density, which is a major breakthrough in the electric vehicle industry. Hyundai Motor announced last year that it will invest $7.3 billion in the research and development of electric vehicle battery technology in the next decade, covering a variety of battery technologies such as lithium iron phosphate, ternary lithium and all-solid-state batteries. The company is close to completing the construction of an all-solid-state battery production demonstration line, and aims to pilot electric vehicles equipped with these batteries in 2025 and mass production by 2030.
