Construction of Korea's first 8-inch SiC plant starts in Busan

South Korea's first 8-inch SiC factory focusing on silicon carbide (SiC) research and development has started construction in Busan. The investor is EYEQ Lab, with a total investment of 100 billion won (about 530 million yuan). The factory plans to produce 144,000 SiC wafers per year and is expected to start production in September 2025.
