Domestic and foreign manufacturers are accelerating their layout in the 8-inch silicon carbide semiconductor market. For example, Wolfspeed has started two 8-inch silicon carbide factories, STMicroelectronics cooperates with Soitec to mass produce 8-inch SiC substrates, Rohm plans to start mass production of 8-inch silicon carbide substrates in 2023, and Infineon also plans to start mass production of 8-inch substrates in 2023. Domestic Tianyue Advanced and Tianke Heda will cooperate with Infineon to supply 8-inch silicon carbide substrates. Sanan Optoelectronics and STMicroelectronics will invest 7 billion yuan to build an 8-inch silicon carbide substrate with an annual output of 480,000 pieces.
