Construction of Korea's first 8-inch SiC plant begins

South Korea's first 8-inch wafer factory focusing on silicon carbide (SiC) started construction in Busan on June 5, with an investment of 100 billion won (about 530 million yuan) by EYEQ Lab. The factory plans to produce 144,000 wafers per year and is expected to start production in September 2025.
