Samsung Electronics shuts down some foundry production lines

Samsung Electronics has shut down more than 30% of its 4nm, 5nm and 7nm foundry production lines at its Pyeongtaek Fab 2 (P2) and Fab 3 (P3), and plans to expand the shutdown to around 50% by the end of the year, according to people familiar with the matter on November 1. The company intends to gradually stop production while monitoring customer orders.
