PSI5 (Peripheral Sensor Interface 5) is an interface widely used in automotive sensor applications. It connects peripheral sensors to the electronic control unit (ECU) in automotive electronics. Features of the interface include high data transmission speeds (125kbps and 189kbps), variable supply current, adjustable data word length (10 bits to 28 bits), asynchronous and synchronous operation, and bidirectional communication. In addition, the PSI5 master provides pre-regulated voltage and provides synchronous data to the sensor by modulating the supply voltage.
