Renault Group announced the latest progress of its Ampere electric vehicle business. The development of the Twingo model announced a year ago is currently on schedule and is expected to be mass-produced and launched in 2026. The entire development cycle is less than two years, and the target price will be less than 20,000 euros. After successfully completing the first technical cooperation, Nissan invited Ampere to explore the development of its next A-class electric model. In addition, by 2028, Ampere plans to launch cobalt-free battery technology, with the goal of doubling the energy density of ternary lithium batteries by 2030 through structural solid-state batteries with cobalt-free cathodes and lithium metal anodes. In addition, based on the FlexEVan platform, Ampere plans to launch Europe's first software-defined vehicle (SDV) in 2026.
