The Hall effect is an important magnetoelectric effect that is widely used in automotive sensors, especially Hall-type crankshaft position sensors and Hall-type camshaft position sensors. These sensors use the Hall effect to generate a voltage pulse signal corresponding to the crankshaft or camshaft angle, providing the ECU with key engine operation information. The advantages of Hall sensors include strong resistance to electromagnetic interference, stable operation in harsh working environments, and the ability to measure current and voltage of arbitrary waveforms.
