Chinese foundry SMIC expected to improve 7nm process performance

Although existing sanctions have prevented China from obtaining the equipment needed for 3nm and below processes, Chinese foundry SMIC is expected to transplant GAA transistor technology to the existing 7nm process node, bringing improvements in power and performance. Huawei executive Zhang Pingan believes that China should strive to make better use of the existing 7nm process node.
