Comparison between Automotive Ethernet and Traditional In-Vehicle Networks

Compared with traditional vehicle networks, automotive Ethernet has a higher data transmission rate and better network performance. For example, the CAN communication rate is 1Mb/s, Flexray can reach 10Mb/s, and automotive Ethernet starts at 100Mb/s and can develop upward to 5Gb/s or even higher. In addition, automotive Ethernet can also use a single pair of unshielded twisted pair cables for signal transmission, which can reduce cable weight and connection costs while meeting high-bandwidth transmission requirements.
