Ford asks suppliers to cut costs to cope with electric vehicle losses

Ford Motor Co. is asking its suppliers to come up with cost-cutting measures in the face of losses in its electric vehicle business. Ford Chief Supply Chain Officer Liz Door has issued a call to action to suppliers, asking them to develop "incremental cost reduction proposals" for a range of current and upcoming electric vehicles, including the F-150 Lightning pickup, the next-generation P800 electric pickup, the Mustang Mach E, the E-Transit van and the large electric SUV.
