Although FMCW lidar is more technically complex than traditional dToF lidar, its ability to capture position and velocity data, as well as its mass production possibilities based on silicon photonics technology and extremely compact design have attracted many companies to invest in research and development, including Aurora Innovation, Aeva, Bajara, SiLC Technologies and Scantinel Photonics.
