BYD reveals progress in all-solid-state batteries

53
It is reported that BYD's Fudi Battery has publicly disclosed the progress of all-solid-state batteries for the first time. The technical route may include high-nickel ternary (single crystal) + silicon-based negative electrode (low expansion) + sulfide electrolyte (complex halide). The battery cell capacity can reach more than 60Ah, the mass energy density is 400Wh/Kg, and the volume energy density is 800Wh/L. It is planned to be mass-produced in small batches in 2027 and installed in BYD's high-end models.
