ECU: The core component of automotive electronics

88
ECU (Electronic Control Unit), also known as "on-board computer", is the core component of modern automotive electronics. There may be multiple ECUs in a car, each responsible for different functions. Although the control system of the whole vehicle is becoming more and more complex, the basic structure of ECU is still microprocessor (CPU), memory (ROM, RAM), input/output interface (I/O), analog-to-digital converter (A/D), etc. For example, when the engine speed or the speed of the car exceeds the limit, ECU will cut off the engine fuel supply to protect the safety of the vehicle. In addition, its control range has been expanded to cruise control, lighting control, airbag control and other fields.
