The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the deployment of cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) in the 5.9 GHz band, marking the first large-scale C-V2X deployment in the United States. The project was jointly applied for by the Utah and Virginia Departments of Transportation, automakers such as Ford, Audi, and Jaguar Land Rover, and C-V2X equipment and solution suppliers such as Applied Information, Cohda Wireless, Commsignia, Danlaw, HARMAN, and Panasonic. 2023 is expected to be a key year for large-scale deployment of C-V2X in the United States.
