Smart Eye and Fingerprints Collaborate to Promote the Application of Advanced Biometrics in Automotive Field

Swedish company Smart Eye AB has reached a cooperation agreement with Fingerprint Cards AB (Fingerprints) to license the latter's iris recognition technology for SEK 50 million. The cooperation aims to enhance the safety and user experience of automobiles and enterprises. Smart Eye will use this technology to develop multimodal biometric solutions, including facial and iris recognition. It is expected that by 2026, every new car in Europe will be equipped with a driver monitoring system (DMS), which will accelerate the application of this technology worldwide.
