Microsoft plans company-wide layoffs

US technology giant Microsoft is reportedly planning a company-wide layoff and taking stricter measures against underperforming employees. Although the layoffs account for less than 1% of the total number of employees, it still means that more than 2,000 people will be affected. Although Microsoft's net profit margin has reached its highest level since the early 2000s, its stock price has not performed well in the past year.
