TSMC, Samsung, and Japanese startup Rapidus all plan to start mass production of 2-nanometer chips in 2025. If they can take the lead in this process, they may dominate future competition. According to Japanese media reports, Rapidus plans to start trial production of 2-nanometer chips in April this year and is expected to start providing samples to Broadcom in June. Although Rapidus' trial production time is basically the same as TSMC, TSMC is expected to start mass production this year, while Rapidus hopes to achieve mass production in 2027.
