Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced plans to start mass production of glass substrates for semiconductors in 2027. Glass substrates are considered a potential "game changer" in the semiconductor market due to their excellent thermal stability and electrical insulation. The company is building a glass substrate pilot line at its Sejong Plant and accelerating research and development.
