Nissan plans to close its Changzhou plant in Jiangsu and lay off employees

Nissan Motor reportedly plans to close its passenger car plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu, and lay off employees. The decision was made due to reduced sales, and Nissan decided to cut production capacity in China by about 10%. The Changzhou plant is Nissan's newest plant in China and is also the passenger car production base of Dongfeng Nissan. Dongfeng Nissan has strategic layouts in Guangzhou, Xiangyang, Zhengzhou, Dalian, Changzhou, Wuhan and other places, with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million vehicles.
