June 20, 2024 Industry Insight: ROHM acquires new plant to accelerate 8-inch SiC substrate production

ROHM recently acquired Solar Frontier's Kunitomi-cho plant as its fourth SiC plant, and plans to start producing 8-inch SiC substrates this year, and will subsequently start producing power components. ROHM has established long-term partnerships with car manufacturers and Tier 1 companies such as Vitesco Technologies, Mazda, and Geely Auto, and is accelerating the development of a new generation of power modules in order to increase market share.
